Remember when this happened..?
One year ago (September 5) Dash and I were in the stands for Bark at the Park Night at T-Mobile Park (it was actually Safeco Field back then).
Per tradition, I stuck a hot dog 🌭 in Dash's mouth and he patiently posed while I snapped some photos, and I posted the best one online. I was unaware that our photo session was filmed by a spectator in the stands until about an hour later when friends texted that a video of Dash was trending online. I didn't think too much of it that evening...
The next morning Dash had over 1,000 new Instagram followers. The photo and video were the #1 and #2 topics on Reddit and seemed to be everywhere online. By the end of the week Dash had over 20,000 new Instagram followers. The video and photo have been viewed millions of times, shared and reposted too many times to keep track of, and Dash has been featured on multiple news programs including Good Morning America. It all started because of a hot dog 🌭
We've put Dash's celebrity to good use and are raising $100,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
That hot dog cost $7 last year. To commemorate Dash's catapult to stardom, we're hoping to raise at least 100 hot dogs 🌭 worth of donations ($700) by the end of the weekend!
